Minutes of SNOW Coordinating Committee Meeting

Monday February 7, 2005

Present: Gunnel Clark, Brenda Collier (Note taker), Ellen Finkelstein, Diana Foreman, Steve Ludwig, John Repp, Karen Moore, Linda York (Facilitator)

Resignation: The coordinating committee expressed regret at the resignation of Peggy Hotes.

Falluja letter: There will be a press conference on Monday February 14 from 9:00 to 10:00 (the only time Jim McDermott is available), at Seattle Central Community College most likely in the lecture hall on the first floor. Steve will send an e-mail to confirm. In addition to Jim, Enas Mohamed, an anesthetist, will be there to talk specifically about Falluja and Samial Agervall to talk about more general ethics topics. Steve is still working on getting additional politicians from the state, county, city and school board.

March 19:

Treasurer Resigned: Shannon had to resign for personal reasons. Brenda will take over for now. She will write up a list of duties to help find another treasurer, and we will make an appeal at the SNOW General Meeting (Note: we did not do this)

Mennonite Voluntary Service Intern: Before we can have an intern we need to have a list of duties and someone to supervise. We are not in a position to do this year, but would be interested next year. Diana will let them know.

Speakpeace Initiative: Nebulous idea by someone looking for support. Bad time because it is just after Eyes Wide Open. Clear event could be in SNOW announce.

Bill of Rights Resolution: An ACLU advocacy program. Diana will suggest to Maureen for the Action for the Week.

Annual Meeting Agenda: The next General Meeting and February 14 will be the Annual Meeting. John Repp and Brenda Collier will facilitate. Diana will take notes. Brenda will get there early with the keys. As it will be Valentines Day, the CC will bring a few refreshments.
