She will continue as treasurer until we can find someone competent to replace her.
She will write up a job description that we can use to solicit a new treasurer.

Webmaster:
Concern was raised about Eric’s problem with carpal tunnel. Several names have surfaced willing to help with the March 19th web page. Steve will give John the contact information to pursue any possible assist for Eric from that pool of names.

Minutes from last meeting were approved to be sent to Eric for posting. (John)

List to sign up for future meetings were passed around. . Steve will facilitate the March 7 CC meeting, and John R. will take notes. The general meeting on March 14 will be facilitated by Brenda and Gunnel; Diana will take notes. Facilitator and note taker for the March 28 CC meeting will be determined on March 7.

Flyer for event got good reviews, except for the less than prominent BRING THE TROOPS HOME NOW. It was agreed to suggest to the March 19 logistics co. to use a bigger script in the next printing.

Budget for Mar. 19 had as of our meeting not been approved with sponsors having concern that there was a $3000 deficit. We agreed to approve the budget when and as long as other sponsors did the same.

Eyes Wide Open:
Date has been changed to April 9-10. It will take place in the Fisher Pavilion. Stay tuned.

BUS ADS:
We will support the bus ads by

  1. Sending out a special Announce, with a preface like: "This is something you might be interested in supporting." (Gunnel to tell Marcia), and
  2. Posting a link on our home page to the Church Council bus ad web page, with the preface: "Support the Bus ads." (John to notify Eric).
  3. We also decided to buy one ad at the price of $300.00

Gunnel had already sent out the appeal to the Snoworg list.

REPORTS FROM SNOW WORKING GROUPS:

Live Simply for Peace has been renamed Beyond Oil, ... An event is planned with tentative date set for May 14th. More later.

Peace Education Lobbying: The Olympia lobbying day was a great success. Six lobbyists handed out 400 leaflets representing the cost of war in the State of WA. Together with a 9 x 10 sign, they made quite an impact.
We allocated money for posters for three more lobbying days (ca $200.00), union label if reasonable, otherwise, labor donated.

Fallujah: Steve has tried to contact the senators' offices to arrange for meetings to talk about Fallujah. They want a request by fax. When date is set we will contact people to join the delegation.

Faces of War: The poster boards with photographs have morphed into printed 26 x 36 posters, which will be laminated with a vinyl background. Poster boards are now up in 17 different locations, mostly churches.
Gunnel will ask Eric to construct a web page for the project so that people can view the posters and pictures on line for possible wider distribution.

Action of the Week: See Bill of Rights Resolution

Bill of Rights Resolution: SNOW has endorsed this resolution.
There is now a resolution in both the WA House and Senate. It is moving quickly and has great support, including endorsement from Bob McKenna.
Because things are moving so quickly the link stopped working some time last week. We therefore decided to continue the Bill of Rights Resolutions as Action of the Week for another week, with an explanation why the link might not have worked for some people and an encouragement to try it again. (Diana to follow through with Marcia).
We will ask Eric how many hits we now get per week. (John?)

Voices in Wartime: This film has now been released in many Landmark Theaters. There is a 12 min trailer that can be used for house parties. Also a curriculum for schools. We decided to endorse and post on Announce next week with one star.

International Women's Day: We have endorsed and are posting the event on Announce with one star.

Family of Jose Couso: There is a possibility that INOC will take on organizing an event around that visit. The organizers have been put in contact with the Spanish Department at the UW.

Seattle Peace Concerts: We will promote the concerts on Announce, but will not endorse or give $$.

Diana's birthday was celebrated with yummy chocolate cake brought by Ellen.
