MINUTES – SNOW CC 3/19/2003 Present: CC Members: Fred M, Karissa L, Ellen F., Ellen B., Marcia M., Ruth Y., Mike Y., Carl M., Jean B., Non-CC Members: Bob Edgerton (briefly) EMERGENCY RESPONSE Fred agreed to call together a committee to coordinate SNOW program for Day 5 of ERN. Larry E. and Howard had expressed interest, at the last SNOW general meeting, in working on program. Marcia and Ellen agreed to be the “on-site” decision makers for Days 1 and 2. We recognized the need for many other SNOW folks as supporting players for the 7 days of activities. We agreed to defer decisions regarding whether or not there would be any “direct action” planned to Ruth, Jean and Mike. If they decide that direct action would be done, they were charged with final decision making about the nature of that activity. STRUCTURE OF SNOW Karissa led us in an exercise to flesh out and clarify the structure of SNOW. Fred and Ruth will work on a “Structure” document to be brought to the next CC meeting for approval. Karissa, Ruth and office volunteers will type up the working notes. HIRING Monday, 3/24 is the deadline for webmaster applications. Carl will do the “tech screening” for these. Carl and one other person from the Hiring Committee will do the interviews. (Carl M., Rad C., Ellen B., and Mike Y are on the hiring committee.) Ellen B. will revise draft of job description for "Organizer" position. This will then be posted on the SNOW website, AFSC and other places to be determined by Mike Y, Ellen B., and Jean B. others will send to them ideas for where to post for optimizing the attracting of a diverse group of applicants. Posting will be done ASAP so that deadline for applications can be in early April. Discussion of "home base" for the organizer was deferred to the hiring/personnel committee. FUNDRAISING: Mike Y and Ellen B will finalize the fundraising letter which will then be posted on our site and sent to member organizations and other organizations with allied missions. Neighborhood groups will be informed of the fundraising campaign.
